Paris, San Francisco sign smart cities agreement

Paris and San Francisco's mayors, Bertrand Delanoe and Ed Lee, have signed a collaboration agreement focused on the digital economy and smart cities, strengthening the "digital sister cities" relationship established in 2006. Paris and San Francisco will work together on smart city issues such as managing pollution, waste, traffic, energy and mobility. They will support joint research work conducted by France's INRIA and UC Berkeley's Center for IT Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS). The cities also will exchange best practice and will host each other's businesses at events such as
