Global shipments of personal computing devices (PCDs), composed of traditional PCs (desktop, notebook, and workstation) and tablets (slate and detachable), are set to decline 3.3 percent year on year in 2019, similar to last year's 3.5 percent drop, according to data from IDC. The overall market is expect to shrink to 372.6 million units in 2023 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -1.2 percent, although detachables, notebooks and mobile workstations are set to increase their share over the 5-year period, said IDC.
