Pepephone launches convergent offer with annual price drop

Thursday 14 March 2019 | 12:16 CET | News
Spanish operator Pepephone, a Masmovil brand, has announced the introduction of what it describes as the first convergent offer on the market that automatically goes down in price every year. The company’s new plan consists of a 200Mbps symmetric fibre connection combined with its 'Inimitable' mobile tariff of unlimited calls and 23GB of data a month. Under its latest commitment to customers, Pepephone said the cost will be reduced from EUR 48.90 a month in the first year to EUR 47.90 a month in the second and so on to EUR 43.90 a month from year 5 and onwards, representing an annual saving of EUR 60 compared to year one.

In addition, Pepephone said a customer’s seniority counts from the date on which the first service was contracted, so that if they now sign up to a convergent tariff, the amount payable will take into account the years spent with the operator.

The new offer is part of Pepephone’s 'principles', a list of commitments to customers that recently saw it drop contract ties and installation costs for its fibre broadband services. In a blog post, Pepephone said it wants to reward customer loyalty and refrain from the usual practice of reserving special offers and lower prices for new customers alone.
