Pepephone to provide Wi-Fi service in Uber taxis

Taxi booking company Uber has announced that Spanish MVNO Pepephone will provide free Wi-Fi connectivity in its recently relaunched Spanish service. The US company was forced to abandon its ambition to conquer Spain's taxi market in 2014 after opposition from local taxi companies and the government. However, the company last month launched UberX in Madrid, a service that uses professionally licensed drivers unlike the previous UberPOP service. The company said it plans install 4G-enabled devices in its fleet of taxis over the next three months, with Pepephone providing the on-the-go Wi-Fi
