Peru and Ecuador reach border interference deal

Peru's Communications and Transport Ministry (MTC) has announced the signing of a new agreement with Ecuador's Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society (Mintel) to ensure interference-free mobile services in border areas. The deal was signed by Peru's Edmer Trujillo and Ecuador's Andres Michelena Ayala, the heads of the respective ministries, at a binational cabinet meeting held in Tumbes. The countries pledged to establish coordination measures "to meet the spectrum needs of mobile services in the two countries thus ensuring their coexistence and avoiding harmful
