Peru extends ban on telecom contract terminations until 24 May

Tuesday 12 May 2020 | 14:16 CET | News
Peruvian telecommunications regulator Osiptel has announced an extension on the ban to suspend or terminate telecommunications services due to customer non-payment until 24 May at the earliest. The country's operators have been prohibited from cancelling contracts due to non-payment since March with a view to protecting customers who end up in financial trouble during the coronavirus lockdown imposed by the government. Osiptel has also made available an online channel for customers to request the payment of their subscription in instalments if required.
