Peru fixed internet speed up 74% to 17 Mbps

The average fixed and mobile internet speed in Peru hit 17.07 Mbps and 18.77 Mbps respectively in 2017, according to a report from consumer protection body, citing Ookla's Speedtest ranking. The fixed broadband figure was up 73.5 percent compared to the year-earlier result of 9.84 Mbps, with Peru now ranked 81st in the world and fourth in South America behind Chile, Uruguay and Brazil. The mobile internet average climbed 8.5 percent year on year to place Peru in 65th position in Ookla's global ranking.
