Peru latest to propose minimum guaranteed internet speed

The Peruvian parliament's Transport and Communications Committee has submitted a proposal designed to substantially increase minimum guaranteed speeds for internet access, reports business daily El Comercio. The committee's bill 5389/2020-CR includes the obligation to provide at least 90 percent of contracted internet access speeds, compared to the current rule that only requires operators to provide at least 40 percent of the corresponding rate.
