Peru needs to invest USD 3 bln in 15,000 more antennas - MTC

Peru needs to accelerate its current level of investment in telecommunications infrastructure to build at least 15,524 more mobile base stations to meet demand, according to a report issued by the transport and communications ministry (MTC). The country will end the year with 20,989 base stations offering 2G, 3G and 4G technology, up 30 percent year on year, but the infrastructure still only covers 58 percent of the demand.
