Peru operators boost investment to offset ARPU decline

Increased competition and a resulting price war has led to average revenue per user (ARPU) in Peru's mobile sector declining by 30 percent, from USD 10 in 2014 to less than USD 7 in 2017, according to Ovum data published by local business daily El Comercio. However, annual investment grew over the same period to around USD 1.2 billion, with recent amendments to the country's telecommunications law set to further boost infrastructure and network upgrades.
