Peru to block further 1.5 mln phones with invalid IMEI this month

Peruvian telecom services regulator Osiptel announced that it will block the final tranche of 1.5 million phones reported as stolen or with no registered user on 30 July. Under new rules introduced in April, all mobile phones reported as stolen to operators will have their international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) numbers blocked within 2 days at most.
