Peru to block 'unregistered' phones by April 2020

Tuesday 24 December 2019 | 11:00 CET | News
Peruvian telecom services regulator Osiptel announced that it will permanently block all mobile phones that aren't registered with mobile industry association GSMA by 05 April 2020. The so-called "substandard" equipment includes five models of the Advance brand, such as the PR7545, four from Prolink, such as the NEO B, Volkscomm's K1 and Gol's X Manchester, said the watchdog, adding that none of these devices comply with the 'Renteseg' register of mobile phones set up in 2017.
