Peru to cancel concession of cablecos that air pirate content

Peru's Transport and Communications Ministry (MTC) has announced that cable companies who broadcast illegal content on their channels will have their concession cancelled following the recent approval of Supreme Decree No. 015-2019-MTC. The decree amends the Peruvian Telecommunications Law's General Regulations so that "distribution, redistribution, transmission, broadcasting, rebroadcasting and marketing" of copyright-protected contents can be cited as grounds for the cancellation of pay-TV operator concessions
