Peru to introduce mobile number porting in one day

Peruvian telecoms regulator Osiptel has proposed the reduction of the mobile number portability period to one working day. The procedure currently takes around seven working days. The proposal has now been submitted to public consultations. Over the next 15 days, interested parties can submit their comments on the one-day number porting proposal. Peru plans to launch its fixed number portability system at mid-2014.
