Peru's communications ministry (MTC) has published a regulatory proposal in the country's official gazette to introduce new spectrum caps with a view to preventing hoarding among mobile operators. Business daily El Comercio reports that the caps amount to 140 MHz in the 450 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1900 MHz and 1.7 / 2.1 GHz bands, and 120 MHz in the 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands. However, the limits per operator will not be applied retroactively, added the report.
