Peruvian fixed internet traffic up 77% since March, mobile up 39%

Peruvian telecommunications regulator Osiptel said the country's fixed internet traffic was up 76.8 percent in the final week of January compared to pre-Covid lockdown levels. In its latest weekly update, the watchdog said data traffic also increased by 39.2 percent on mobile networks from compared to the week before the lockdown (09-15 March). "These results indicate that in the new normal, operators face substantially higher traffic than before the start of the national emergency," said the watchdog.
