Peruvian operators blocked over 1 mln mobile lines last year

Peruvian telecom regulator Osiptel announced that the country's operators switched off a total of 1.05 million lines corresponding to lost or stolen handsets in 2017. The watchdog said it verified that Claro (America Movil), Movistar (Telefonica), Entel and Bitel had removed the lines from their databases after requiring them to inform affected users via SMS that their numbers were on Osiptel's blacklist.
