Pforzheim offers 1 Gbps internet in industrial parks

Pforzheim municipal works (SWP) in the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg said it now offers fibre optic internet at up to 1,000 Mbps for both uploads and downloads in the town's industrial parks. SWP has been using fibre optics for more than fifteen years and the network now exceeds 100 kilometres. The works also operates SWP Connect, a private IP grid that circumvents the public internet. There is also a data centre in Pforzheim where companies can accommodate their servers and back-up systems.
