Pixelworks working on 5G platform for OTA streaming with Qualcomm

Pixelworks said it is working with Qualcomm on a 5G-based fixed wireless access customer-premises equipment platform that will integrate its over-the-air (OTA) local TV streaming technology. The joint system will combine the Pixelworks OTA streaming XCode processor  and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System, so that broadband network operators, ISPs and original equipment manufacturers can rapidly develop and deploy a comprehensive home video service. The service is aimed at helping companies produce quality alternatives for "cord-cutters."
