Poland plans BSA deregulation on regional basis

Polish regulator UKE expects opposition to its proposal to regulate wholesale broadband access on a regional basis, but ultimately it should result in increased investment. The regulator started a consultation on the draft bitstream access (BSA) obligations imposed on Orange Poland. The decision proposes an end to regulation in 76 districts, including bigger cities such as Warsaw, where there is effective competition. In other areas, Orange will be required to provide access to its network under regulated conditions and prices. UKE President Magdalena Gaj said in an interview with Polish
