Polish ministry calls for local govts to lower fees

The higher the municipal fees, the less internet available, the Polish government has found. Local governments are making network construction more difficult by overstating the fees for occupation of roadways for telecommunications investments, reported Polish daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. The local governments argue that the government lobbies on behalf of businesses constructing broadband networks. To persuade the municipalities, the Ministry of Digitalisation prepared a detailed report on how local policies are reflected in the costs of investment. Extra costs can reach up to PLN 80 a
