Polish municipalities no longer need UKE approval for free municipal hotspots

Based on the amendment to the Poland's so-called Mega Act, in support of electronic networks and services, new provisions on free internet access provided by municipalities will became effective on 12 December. Based on these, the municipalities will no longer need approval by regulator UKE to provide free internet services; they will need to make notifications. New hotspots will be located only in public places and provide minimum speeds of 30 Mbps.
