Pop TV to show 'Swedish Dicks' in US in autumn

US cable and satellite network Pop TV has acquired the first and forthcoming second series of Modern Times Group (MTG) unit Viaplay’s television serial, 'Swedish Dicks', said the Nordic TV and Film Fund. The Swedish comedy-drama stars Peter Stomare and Keanu Reeves as private detectives in Los Angeles. It was produced by Viking Brothers Entertainment and Brain Academy and aired on MTG’s streaming service Viaplay in September 2016.

'Swedish Dicks' was the most popular digital original in Sweden in 2016, according to TBI Vision/Parrot Analytics. Lionsgate then picked it up for world distribution. PopTV will launch it nationwide in the autumn, making it available to over 80 million US homes.

Viaplay Original’s new show 'Veni Vidi Vici' which was launched recently at MIPDrama Screenings premiered on the streaming service on 13 April 13. Other forthcoming shows include 'Alex', 'The Lawyer', 'Embassy Down', 'Hassel' and the documentary 'SuperSwede'.
