Portugal aims to extend sanctions regime to company managers

Friday 22 February 2019 | 10:54 CET | News
Portugal's National Communications Authority (Anacom) wants managers of companies to be held responsible in any case of serious violation of their duties. This was one of the proposals to amend the Electronic Communications Law sent to the government this month by the regulator, reports Lusa. In the event of a serious infraction, Anacom's proposal for revision of the law is a possible "ancillary penalty of prohibition of the exercise of office or functions of administration, direction and supervision" in the communications sector for up to two years.
