Over nine in ten (90.6%) of Portuguese consumers subscribed to bundled telecom service packages at the end of the third quarter, an increase of 6.3 percentage points from the same quarter in 2016, according to Portugal's National Communications Authority (Anacom). In total, the number of customers of bundled services reached 3.7 million (+7.4%), which corresponds to 254,000 new customers in the past year. This is the highest growth recorded in the last four quarters.

The growth was mainly due to the 5P packages (mobile and fixed telephony, mobile and fixed broadband and pay-TV), which won 46,000 new customers. Triple-play packages (landline, fixed broadband and pay-TV) added another 28,000 customers, and the 2P package (pay-TV and mobile broadband) attracted 26,000 new subscribers in the quarter. The 5P and 3P offers account for 82.3 percent of total customers, with about 1.5 million customers each.

In the quarter under review, Meo had the highest share of subscribers of bundled services (39.9%), followed by the Nos group (38.5%), Vodafone (16.7%) and Nowo/Oni (4.8%). Nos continues to lead in 3P and 4P (with shares of 36.2 and 75.7%, respectively), while Meo led in 2P and 5P (43.4% and 48%, respectively).

Between January and September 2017, revenues from packaged services amounted to EUR 1.3 billion (+5.9%).
