Portugal sees fixed voice traffic nearly double due to Covid-19

Electronic communications traffic has been increasing in Portugal due to measures for tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, with 47 percent growth in voice traffic and 52 percent more data traffic, according to the National Communications Authority (Anacom). There has been significant growth in fixed voice traffic (+94%), in contrast with the drop registered in recent years (in 2019 it fell by 15%), and fixed broadband traffic growth also accelerated (+53.7%), after slowing last year (+29% in 2019).
