Portugal sets new record for average mobile call duration, total traffic up 12% in Q1

The exceptional measures associated with the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a new record in the average duration of mobile calls in Portugal, at 184 seconds in the first quarter of 2020. According to figures published by the National Communications Authority (Anacom), the average duration of calls was up 20 seconds year-on-year, and each mobile user made 223 minutes of calls each month, an increase of over 23 minutes from a year ago.
