Portugal withdraws exceptional measures for telecom sector

The Portuguese government has repealed the extraordinary measures for the telecommunications sector introduced in March during the State of Emergency in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, reports TeK. The measures forced the main operators (Meo, Nos and Vodafone) to ensure the provision of essential services, including calls, SMS, access to emergency services with caller location information and the transmission of warnings to the population, as well as data services for access to email, search engines, among others, and the distribution of TV signals. As a result, operators were restricted
