Portuguese consumer association seeks compensation from Facebook

The Portuguese Consumer Protection Association (Deco) has announced that it will proceed with a court action against Facebook to ensure that users of the social network in Portugal are compensated for the misuse of data, reports Jornal de Negocios. DECO points out that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has pledged to consumer associations in Portugal, Brazil, Belgium, Spain and Italy that he would assess the allocation of compensation to people whose data has been misused by other applications operating on the social network.
