Portuguese telecom operators concerned over possible 5G delay

Friday 25 October 2019 | 13:57 CET | News
The Portuguese Association of Telecommunications Operators (Apritel) has expressed concern that Portugal will be late in launching 5G, reports Tek. The statement was issued after Anacom announced the 5G licensing schedule, due to start in April 2020 with an auction. The new general secretary of Apritel, Pedro Mota Soares, considers it regrettable that Portugal is lagging behind in 5G, "reducing the possibilities of Portugal taking full advantage of the potential that 5G offers".
