Profeco suspends AT&T postpay service in 10 Mexican states

Monday 5 July 2021 | 13:48 CET | News
Mexico's consumer protection agency Profeco has suspended the marketing of AT&T Mexico postpay services in a total of 10 Mexican states following a longstanding dispute regarding an additional annual charge applied by the operator, reports website Xataka. After launching a class action on behalf of over 800,000 AT&T Mexico users against the charge imposed by AT&T on users acquiring equipment in instalments, the attorney general's office ascertained that contracts being offered at various customer service centres did not tally with those on Profeco's records.
