ProSieben cleared to broadcast regional adverts

The German Federal Administrative Court ruled on 17 December that ProSieben is permitted to broadcast tailor-made adverts for individual regions. In its judgment, the Court declared that the licensing of a programme includes only the editorial content, so a regional differentiation of adverts is not prohibited. Jurgen Brautmeier, chairman of the director's conference of the State Media Authorities (DLM), disapproves of the ruling. According to the DLM, adverts are part of the programme.
