ProSieben, Sat1 put HDTV on ice until 2010

German private broadcast channels Sat.1 and ProSieben will increase their efforts to provide wide screen broadcasts using the 16:9 format. This strategy means that the channels will stop broadcasting their HDTV channels Sat.1 HD and ProSieben HD from 16 February until 2010. From 2010, the ProSieben Sat.1 Group will have its own satellite capacity for HDTV and re-launch the channels. German cable network operator Kabel BW does not understand the decision of the channels to stop offering HD TV and reminds its customers that they still have six other HD TV channels they can watch via Kabel BW's
