Proximus reaches 1.1Gbps in test of Huawei 4.5G platform

Monday 30 May 2016 | 13:04 CET | News
Belgian operator Proximus and Huawei announced that they have successfully completed a live demonstration of a 1.1Gbps peak connection speed on a live mobile network. The operator used the Huawei 4.5G platform 'LTE Advanced Pro' to achieve the new top speed, in what it says is a first for Belgium. The rate is eight times faster than its current peak speed of 150 Mbps over LTE. The trial used 60MHz of spectrum across the 2,600MHz, 2,100MHz, 1,800MHz and 800MHz bands to deliver 1.1Gbps.
