PTA extends Vodafone, Siminn 900 MHz licences to 2022

Monday 27 June 2016 | 13:19 CET | News
The Icelandic Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) said it has decided to extend the 900 MHz band frequencies licences allocated to Siminn and Vodafone Iceland, following a consultation in March. Licences they hold for 2 x 5 MHz each were due to expire on 13 February 2017 and PTA considers it natural to apply a renewal date of 13 February 2022, to bring them into line with other 900 MHz licences. All 900 MHz bands should be technologically neutral from 2017.
