PTCL Group's 9-month revenue jumps 4.5%, profit drops 32%

Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) posted group revenue of PKR 98 billion for the nine months ended 30 September, which represents an increase of 4.5 percent year-on-year. Ufone revenue rose 6 percent year-on-year, while PTCL's microfinance banking subsidiary UBank saw its revenue grow 50 percent in the period. PTCL Group's operating profit and net profit for the nine months fell 15 percent and 32 percent, respectively as a result of high inflation, significant devaluation of PKR against USD and higher power tariffs.
