PTS draws up telecoms customer data privacy rules

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said it is setting out requirements for telecoms oeprators to protect customers' personal data and communications. Among other t hings, the new regulations deal with the question of who is allowed to access and handle customer information. PTS said only people with the correct training and who need the information in order to carry out their work will be able to access sensitive details about customers and their communications. Personnel must also be informed of their duty of confidentiality.
