PTS says some cordless microphones disrupt mobile telephony

Friday 10 July 2015 | 11:22 CET | News
Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said cordless microphones interfered with mobile telephony at the annual Almedalen Week political forum in Visby on Gotland, which this year ran from 28 June until 05 July. The watchdog reminded the public of the requirement to have a permit to use a cordless microphone in most frequency bands. It said older equipment tends to use frequencies in the 800 MHz band reserved for mobile telephony, and operators had the right to claim for damages.
