PTS takes enforcement action over Tele2 Sweden MTR

Friday 4 July 2014 | 12:15 CET | News
Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS is taking immediate enforcement action against Tele2 Sweden to make it cut its prices for mobile voice call termination to a maximum average of SEK 0.0815 per minute by 07 July at the latest. PTS had ordered Tele2 to implement the new MTR on 02 July but the operator responded by saying it did not intend to comply. The new MTR came into force on 01 July. Tele2 argues that price regulation based on a pure LRIC (long-run incremental cost) calculation breaches Swedish law. It has three weeks to appeal against the enforcement action.
