Puerto Rico telecom watchdog absorbed by new 'super regulator'

Puerto Rico has enacted a new law that will lead to all of the activities and functions of telecom regulator JRT becoming fully integrated into a new public services 'super-regulator', reports El Vocero. The new multi-jurisdiction watchdog is called the Junta Reglamentadora de Servicios Publicos de Puerto Rico (Public Services Regulatory Board of Puerto Rico), which will absorb the JRT and other agencies such as the Consumer Protection Office, Public Service Commission and Energy Commission.
