Quarter of Germans receive advertised fixed broadband speed

The German federal network agency recorded in its annual report a positive development in terms of internet speeds offered to customers in the year 2019-2020, especially with fixed broadband connections. Seventy-three percent of the users received in download at least half the contractually agreed maximum data transfer rate for fixed broadband, compared with 70.8 percent in 2018-2019. For 24.0 percent of users the speed was fully achieved or exceeded last year, compared with 16.4 percent in 2018/2019.
