Quarter of under 8s have tablets in the UK - study

More than one quarter (27%) of UK kids, around 2.1 million, have a tablet by the time they are eight years old, according to new research by uSwitch.com. The study found that almost 4 million children (29%) learned to use a tablet or smartphone by the time they were three, with one in ten (11%) under two years old. UK parents spent GBP 5.6 billion on gadgets for their children in 2013, spending on average GBP 462 each. The survey also found that 16 percent of parents believe their under 16s are 'addicted' to gadgets, and 26 percent say their children would feel lost without them. In addition,
