Rai testing 5G-based video technology in Turin

Italy's Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) announced that public broadcaster Rai will be testing the potential of 5G technology to air audiovisual content during a trial coinciding with the Feast of St John (La Festa di San Giovanni) on 24 June. The broadcaster's Turin-based R&D unit CRITS is teaming with MISE and the local city council for the trial involving the 5G streaming of live HD images recorded by drones and inside the city on to two giant screens in Piazza Vittorio.
