Rain launches 5G transport network using Huawei equipment

South African mobile data operator Rain said that it has launched its 5G transport network in partnership with Huawei. Rain is using the NetEngine 8000 M series of intelligent metro routers, which provides high-density 10GE-to-site access and 100GE uplink. It will also use Huawei's 200G+OXC optical product and Huawei's Network Cloud Engine, which enables service automation and intelligent O&M on the network.
