Rakuten puts USD 10 mln into ad platform startup PocketMath

Japanese e-commerce group Rakuten has given USD 10 million in funding to PocketMath, the startup's first outside investment. SaeMin Ahn, the managing partner of Rakuten Ventures, will also join the PocketMath board. PocketMath started in 2011, making it easier for businesses to advertise to their ideal audience. Focusing exclusively on the mobile advertising space, the company launched a platform for real-time bidding in early 2013. It now serves up more than 20 billion impressions daily to customers.
