Raspberry sells almost 1 million Raspberry Pi computers

UK company Raspberry, which launched its Raspberry Pi credit card-sized heuristic computer for children in early 2012, announced that it was close to passing the 1 million units shipped mark. On its blog it writes that one of its two official distributors, 14/Premier Farnell has sold over 500,000 Raspberry Pi's. The second manufacturer/distributor is RS Components, for which there are no up-to-date figures. The Pi was designed to help school children tinker with technology and has its own app store.
