Reddit buys short-form video social platform Dubsmash

Social news site Reddit has acquired short-form video social platform Dubsmash for an undisclosed amount. Under the deal, Dubsmash's entire team will join Reddit, including its three co-founders Suchit Dash, Jonas Druppel and Tim Specht. Dubsmash will keep its own platform and brand, but Reddit said it will also look to combine the company's "unique" creator experience with its own community growth engine.
