Robi launches smartphone financing programme for rural customers

Bangladeshi operator Robi has signed a tripartite agreement with micro-insurance provider Arthik, and non-government organization Sangram to provide smartphones for customers in rural areas. Under this initiative, rural customers will be able to acquire smartphones with EMI facilities without owning credit cards or bank accounts. Arthik will work as the digital inclusion aggregator platform which will be responsible for arranging the micro-insurance facility for all handsets sold under this agreement by Robi. Sangram will analyze the customers' credit history and encourage them to access
