Roku active accounts jump 40%, streaming hours leap 68% in Q4

Roku said active accounts in the fourth quarter passed 27 million, an increase of 40 percent from the year before. The number of streaming hours jumped 68 percent to an estimated 7.3 billion, bringing the total for 2018 to 24 billion, up 61 percent year-on-year. Roku said the numbers are all preliminary, but showed people moving away from traditional linear TV and towards streaming. Final fourth quarter results will be provided in February, together with an outlook for 2019.
