Romania further lowers termination rates

Romania's telecom regulator Ancom announced the new maximum tariffs mobile and fixed operators may charge for call termination on their individual networks. The maximum tariffs will be submitted to a two-phase cut by more than 30 percent in 2012. Starting from 1 March, the maximum tariff which the six mobile telephony operators identified as having significant market power (SMP) (Cosmote, Orange, RCS&RDS, Romtelecom, Telemobil and Vodafone) will charge for the services of call termination on mobile telephone networks will be EUR 0.0405 per minute. The maximum rate will further decrease to EUR
